The SHRC Annual Report 2023–2024 offers a comprehensive overview of the Commission’s strategic work and achievements over the past year. It documents SHRC’s interventions in the areas of child rights, women’s rights, business and human rights, rights of minorities, and access to justice, reflecting its growing institutional maturity and mandate. The report outlines the Commission’s case handling, Suo Moto inquiries, public hearings, and engagement with government departments, judiciary, civil society, and the media. It also details SHRC’s efforts in policy advocacy, legal reform, capacity building, and public awareness, as well as its contribution to advancing national and international human rights commitments, including the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Notably, the report highlights the integration of Business and Human Rights into SHRC’s scope and its emphasis on vulnerable groups such as women, children, and religious minorities. While showcasing progress, the report also acknowledges key institutional and systemic challenges and provides forward-looking recommendations for legal harmonisation, institutional coordination, and improved complaint redress mechanisms to enhance the human rights ecosystem in Sindh.
